Forever's Monsoons
That last day in the city,
Felt like a wrapper of emptiness
–
Where were you? I looked out
But you, like the monsoons,
Had not yet arrived
I stared at empty skies
While you laughed from afar
As your echo reminded
Man awaits the Gods,
Never the other way round
There were just a few drops – a mizzle
A teaser that I had passed -
That my pilgrimage had just
begun
In that shrine within the rains
Ah, forever’s monsoons –
Always there, pouring
In moments of eternity
You and I still entwined
In yesterday’s rains that never
came
In tomorrow’s clouds that drift
away…
